From the City of Ottawa
Last year Ottawa experienced an ice storm, wildfire smoke, a tornado, and torrential rain. Following that we’ve just had one of the warmest winters on record. To help us prepare for our already changing climate, the City has developed a draft climate resiliency strategy, Climate Ready Ottawa.
Climate Ready Ottawa identifies actions to address the top risks facing Ottawa and prepare for a much warmer, wetter and unpredictable climate. It builds on work to identify Ottawa’s future climate and top climate risks.
This is a long-term strategy that will help us build a resilient city by 2050. It expands on many initiatives already underway with new policies, programs and projects. We will create a short-term implementation plan to that will start with the most important priorities.
We need your help shaping the final version of Climate Ready Ottawa. Help us identify which actions the City should start with to make it easier for Ottawans to prepare for climate change.
