Construction completion

We have received an update from Cavanagh: the line painting will occur this week, as well as finishing a few landscaping items. The final walk through with the City for confirmation of completion will take place on August 28.

Final layer of asphalt

A final layer of asphalt will be applied on the week of July 14th (weather dependent).

Construction finalization (2025)

Work at the Kilspindie Roundabout continues but the majority of work is completed. Work should finish up in July with final landscaping

Checking in on the work (September 25, 2024)

Kilspindie Road Closure (August 28, 2024)

Kilspindie road will be closed from September 1st to December 20th to allow for advancements for the Kilspindie-Longfields roundabout construction.

Update on project resumption (July 25, 2024)

The project's construction was originally scheduled to start in spring/summer of 2024, but there were unaccounted for issues with Hydro lines. The project is expected to resume starting September 1st.

Progress update (June 18, 2024)

The contractor for the roundabout encountered an issue with the underground Hydro lines that required an engineered solution. Engineers have been working and apparently have created this fix and the  contractor should be back on site once Hydro Ottawa approves the work that needs to be done.

Roundabout approved (April 19, 2024)

The City of Ottawa has approved for construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Kilspindie ridge and Longfields dr.

When?

The city anticipates it will complete the majority of the work in 2024.

Why?

With the new development on Crossgate st, there has been a major influx in traffic causing backups during peak hours. There is currently no traffic controlling mechanism in place, resulting in cars waiting long periods of time to turn from and onto Crossgate & Kilspindie.
