Driveway widenings information

Tis the season to start thinking about seasonal renovations, house retrofits, and outdoor projects!  Many of you have asked about widening your driveway. See my video on this here!  My advice to you, having been engaged in a number of very very messy situations, is to please be careful!!! CBC published an article outlining the steep risks of doing so. There are strict bylaws that govern the width of driveways based on water absorption and snow management. If you are unaware of the policy and want to modify your driveway, please see this link or reach out to my office.   I will be following this up with an engagement to many of the local contractors that do this type of work in hopes that they do not market/sell illegal widening services, because at the end of the day - you will likely be the one on the hook, not them, and I have seen costs in the 40k zone, so please – be careful and be compliant!   Hire a licensed professional who is well informed and please do your research in advance of a driveway widening.
