Voters in Ottawa ridings made their voices heard in the nation’s 45th election Monday evening.

Nepean
Liberal leader Mark Carney was elected for the first time in the Ottawa riding of Nepean.
He defeats Conservative candidate Barbara Bal and NDP candidate Shyam Shukla. Carney received 63 per cent of the vote, compared to 33 per cent for Bal.
Liberal MP Chandra Arya represented the riding since 2015, but his nomination to run in Nepean was revoked.
Arya won the riding in 2021 with 46 per cent of the vote.
