311 provides the ‘triage’ function for operations at the City of Ottawa. A key aspect of their function is the information management – if someone makes a report to them, it gets logged and can then be subsequently followed up.  So here is my challenge to you:  if you see something, say something!  If you see a bag of garbage in a ditch, a patch of wild parsnip near a path or playground, a nasty odour from the landfill, or a pot hole at an intersection, please send an email to 311@ottawa.ca , copy me, and include the closest address/intersection and a short description.  You will get bonus points if you snap a picture of the issue as well so that the situation and location is perfectly clear.   This will help me to help you.
