Meeting with provincial and federal counterparts to discuss the Barrhaven Civic Centre

Earlier this week I had the opportunity to host MP Arya and MPP Macleod at my office to discuss how our three levels of government are coming together to build a civic centre for Barrhaven. This project is super exciting and when complete it will be an amazing public space that will be walkable, accessible by two rapid transit lines, and will offer a public library, flexible community centre space for arts, cultural, senior and STEM programming and an outdoor plaza. It will be interconnected to the North Jock Park and the trail systems that will link this down to Manotick through Stonebridge and on the West side along the Jock River up to Clarke Fields. The next phase of this project will be for the city to procure the land and to complete a detailed design of the structure. I will be sure to keep you aware as this progresses, especially for any upcoming public engagement opportunities.
