Collaborating with VIN leadership to help combat vehicle theft

This week I met with John Todd, president of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) verification organization who oversee reVINning of vehicles in the prairie provinces.  This type of straightforward administrative process has had a demonstrable impact on combatting vehicle thefts because it complicates the resale.  I have advocated that this type of programme would have a benefit here in Ontario, and with the expected price hikes in vehicles, it only becomes more important that systems like this are implemented to combat the unacceptable number of vehicle thefts in our city.
