Police target unsafe driving in traffic blitz, issue 51 offence notices

(Ottawa)— The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) conducted a three-day traffic enforcement initiative between November 12th and November 15th, resulting in 51 provincial offence notices issued.
The South Neighbourhood Resource Team officers focused on the Hunt Club Road area and offences included:
Drive with window coated/obstructed
Fail to surrender insurance card
Drive with improper headlights
Unsafe lane change
Follow too closely
Improper muffler
Unnecessary noise
Fail to signal
Fail to surrender licence
Cannabis readily available to driver
Drive handheld device
The OPS remains committed to enforcing traffic laws and ensuring the safety of all road users and will continue to work with community partners to promote safe driving and reduce dangerous behaviours on our roads.
