Supporting real-time communication to track buses

This week I attended a very informative transit commission where a number of my initiatives were addressed.  I placed an inquiry in February on the feasibility of using real-time data systems to support communication to transit riders.  The detailed presentation can be viewed HERE. In summary, OC Transpo will be introducing new technology and systems to better enable real-time transit communication. This includes more targeted alerts, more accurate and automatic GPS data, and new digital screens at major bus stations.

I previously mentioned that there will be an opportunity for public consultations on OC Transpo bus routes. I am happy to announce the following events:

I am well aware of the shortfalls regarding the connection from Marketplace to Cambrian and with reliability in general.  I will continue to hear your perspectives and represent those at transit commission. I am inviting the General Manager of OC Transpo to Barrhaven in the next month to witness first hand the need to rejig our local routes here in Barrhaven.
