This week was a major work week for transit commission.   I spoke to a number of specialists and engineers and discussed the current state of public transit with a number of our commuters at Tunneys pasture on Wednesday morning.  I heard loud and clear about the pedestrian connections at Tunneys, the inconsistency of busses out of Tunneys, the frustration from Half Moon Bay residents regarding the 75 routing and passenger density. I have represented these issues to OC transpo and will continue to advocate throughout the bus route review process.  At transit commission this week I received the report on the LRT safety and operations roadmap to sustainability.  The short term mitigations: speed reductions at curves, increased inspections, frequent axle changes, restraining rail widening and additional rail greasing allow for safe conduct in the short term.  My questioning focused on delegations of authority, technical regulations and the long term engineering solutions.  See link for more.
