Two youth arrested following a string of incidents in Barrhaven

I have been actively following reports on both Facebook as well as emails and calls to my office regarding multiple instances of youth who have been acting absolutely unacceptably in our community.

For over 2 weeks, my office has been in close contact with Ottawa Police Service - Service de police d'Ottawa regarding these incidents.

Ottawa Police released today that on July 31, two youth were arrested after a successful K9 track following a string of robberies and assaults in the Barrhaven Area. Further charges may be laid pending ongoing investigations. Police are aware of a localized increase in mischief and assaults in the Barrhaven area. Residents and business owners are encouraged to report criminal incidents to the police.

I want to thank the Ottawa Police for their efforts on this file and my staff for working with some of our local businesses to ensure that they filed Police reports so that Police could action accordingly.
