December 5th was International Volunteer Day and I announced a pilot program for Barrhaven West: Operation Frosty’s Hug. Simply put, go and reach out to a neighbour that could use some assistance this winter with snow shoveling and offer to help them out. This is even more important after todays large dump of snow! If you are a high school student, this can count towards your volunteer hours.
Contact my office for more details (david.hill@ottawa.ca), and in the spring, there will be a few prizes given out courtesy of our amazing local business community.
