Challenging the LRT regulatory structure

This week at Transit Commission I challenged our existing regulatory structure.  I have concerns that our system does not have adequate technical safety oversight and I would like to see a review in order to ensure that the wheel assembly retrofits and the rail analysis are above reproach safe.  I will not tolerate anything less than complete assurance so that I can pass this on to you.  I am committed to addressing safety and reliability in our transit system.
