This Month at OPL

As the temperature dips, more people turn to the Library as a warm, welcoming, and free space  to borrow books, learn something new, or simply settle into a quiet corner.

OPL’s Most Requested Books of 2025

OPL has released its highly anticipated list of its most-requested books between January 1 and December 1, 2025. These annual lists for adults, teens, and children highlight the titles that captured readers' attention this year, in English and French. Explore the selections and discover insights provided by OPL’s knowledgeable Content Services team about these must-read titles.

Cozy Baking at the Library

For many of us, much time will be spent in the kitchen in the coming weeks to prepare for family gatherings, potlucks, or simply to bake a little something to lift our spirits as the days  get shorter and colder. As your oven is warming your home, the Library is here to help you with cozy recipes to warm your heart.

Literary Awards: A Big Year for Book Lovers

Beyond Ottawa’s borders, the national and international book world has been buzzing. Award-winning titles from the International Booker Prize, Governor General’s Literary Awards, and other major literary recognitions continue to shape reading trends. Find out more by reading the blog on OPL’s website.
