At the meeting, staff confirmed that a handful of major projects (upgrades) are now underway at the landfill to improve waste management and odour capture.

For those that are getting exhausted with the stink of the landfill (that would be most of you I suspect 😕 ) I have asked staff to hold a public meeting regarding this topic.

The City of Ottawa is hosting an open house on the landfill this Wednesday, August 21 from 6 pm to 8 pm in the administrative building at the Trail Waste Facility at 4475 Trail Rd.

You can ask questions and share your concerns with staff, and learn about the daily and upcoming work activities at the landfill. To RSVP, please email TrailWasteFacility@ottawa.ca.

If you smell something: did you know the City is required by the province to investigate all odour complaints received and report those that are associated with the Trail Waste Facility landfill? If you smell something, say something! Call 3-1-1 to report it.
